Direct Expansion DX Coils

Direct expansion (DX) coils are an important part of air conditioning systems. They work by transferring heat from the air inside a building to the refrigerant circulating through the coils. As the refrigerant absorbs heat, it evaporates, turning into a gas. This process cools the air inside the coils, which is then circulated back into the building. DX coils are called “direct expansion” because the refrigerant expands directly in the coils, without the need for a separate heat exchanger. This makes them efficient and cost-effective for cooling indoor spaces.
